We stayed at Pukenui Lodge for a weekend getaway with the family. The family room was simple but comfortable, with a TV and a private bathtub. The surrounding area was stunning, and the staff, including the owner and their friendly dog, were lovely. We received great recommendations on local attractions that we wouldn't have discovered on our own. The kitchen was clean and well-equipped, and the living room was spacious. The kids enjoyed the card games, ping-pong table, and the retro arcade game, especially the Pac-Man game. Convenient parking was also a plus.
Would recommend this hotel.

The location of the lodge is perfect, with easy access to the main road and popular attractions nearby. the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay enjoyable. the room was comfortable and always warm, ensuring a good night's sleep. the lodge had great facilities like a table tennis area and cozy common areas with a large fire.
The bathroom could have been cleaner, but it was satisfactory for the price paid.

Stayed in a cozy double room with a private bathroom at this lodge. the room was a bit small, but still comfortable. We were lucky to have the lodge all to ourselves during our 2-night stay. the owner, who lives nearby, was helpful and friendly. the communal living/dining area was spacious and there were lots of games available. the lodge is conveniently located next to Schnapps pub.
It was a great value for money and a pleasant stay in the summer. Cons: Nothing at all.

Mind-blowing customer service! Chris was super friendly and made our stay so comfortable. He provided helpful information upon our arrival. The place was spotlessly clean and definitely worth the money. Perfect for families with kids - my son made tons of friends and didn't want to leave. We loved the fire to keep us warm and the table tennis in the living room was a blast. The kitchen, showers, and rooms were all clean and everything we needed for our 3-day stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The place was warm and spotless. Room heaters worked well and the corridors were comfortable. The kids adored the table tennis and there was plenty of space to relax and watch TV at night. The wifi was great too. The staff gave us amazing tips on what to do in the area when the weather wasn't great for the Tongariro Crossing. Thanks to their recommendation, we caught an early shuttle and the location was super convenient. We would definitely recommend staying here! The double room with a private bathroom was a bit small, but still comfortable. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves since we didn't see or hear another customer during our stay. The owner was helpful and friendly, and the communal living/dining area was spacious. Plus, it's right next door to Schnapps pub.
